Why Unity is Important for America (and the Church)

Why Unity is Important for America (and the Church)

People need each other.

Following having a relationship with God through His Son Jesus Christ, our greatest need is each other. God believes this so much that at the moment of salvation, we become part of Jesus’ family, His Church! This occurs just as stated in 1 Corinthians 12:13, “For we were all baptized by one Spirit into one body.”

While this happens to us spiritually, we are living in a culture that is completely opposite of this. The American way compels us to live independently of one another. This leads to a selfish and oftentimes destructive life. It also defies the Scripture and is not the life we are called to live within the body of Jesus Christ.

5 Reasons Why America Needs Prayer Right Now

5 Reasons Why America Needs Prayer Right Now
From Assembly Bills that are trying to silence the voice of truth, to legislation that limits parental rights and seeks to promote perverted sex education, we are at the crossroads: “Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil” (Isaiah 5:20). It is clear America is in desperate need of prayer. The good news is that God has promised to hear our prayers and accept our repentance. 2 Chronicles 7:14 says, "If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land." Let's take a moment right now to intercede for our nation.

5 Reasons Why Younger Christians and Pastors Avoid Politics

5 Reasons Why Younger Christians and Pastors Avoid Politics

In my opinion, failure to recognize diverse gifts may explain why many people are divided on the issue of religion and politics. For instance, John MacArthur, James Dobson, Chuck Colson, Tony Perkins, and D. James Kennedy have/had different ministries, but all fall under the umbrella of Christian service. God creates, within each of us, varying desires, talents, and levels of interests. If God has called a man to preach and teach His Word, that will be his passion. If God has called a Christian to pursue politics, that will be his or her passion, and so on.

Problems arise when we become judgmental and fail to respect our differences. Activists should not expect everyone to share their passion for politics, and those who believe Christians should stay out of politics must understand that God clearly calls some Christians to the political arena. God established the concept of government, why would He not desire godly leadership?

The top five comments I’ve heard that prevent involvement are:

Good Without God? Data Doesn't Trump Truth
America's moral heartbeat ceases when we cut off the source of life. We need resuscitation, renewal, and revival.
