My analysis of Wednesday night's debate between President Obama and Governor Romney is that Romney won. He won on appearance, aggressiveness, facts, and he won on whether he looked presidential.
The left is going nuts. They think their guy lost. Here's just a few examples of what the left is saying: MSNBC hosts, from Chris Matthews to Ed Schultz, were "stunned" by the president's performance. Michael Moore, the lefty filmmaker, said, "This is what you get when you pick John Kerry as your debate coach."
Van Jones, the former Obama adviser and admitted communist: "[Romney] was able to out-Obama Obama."
A CNN poll taken just after the debate found more than two-thirds believed Romney won. No poll has ever showed a candidate scoring higher than 60 percent.
Do these comments matter? Maybe. Next week is the vice presidential debate and the week after that another presidential one with a townhall format. Conservatives are energized, perhaps for the first time with Romney. And that matters ... a lot.
