Precedence Replaces Truth

February 25, 2005

I am not Catholic, but I love this Pope.

He published a new book this week called "Memory And Identity."

In it, Pope John Paul II says the trend toward homosexual marriage is part of "a new ideology of evil" that is insidiously threatening society.

In the book, the Pope also calls abortion a "legal extermination" comparable to attempts to wipe out Jews and other groups in the 20th Century.

The Supreme Court this week refused a petition to rehear Roe vs. Wade, even though it was based on a lie by the petitioner, Norma McCorvey and even though she now says she's on the other side and is pro-life.

Precedence replaces truth in the court's mind.

It didn't when it came to slavery, but it does when it comes to the developing child yearning to breathe free.

Paul, the apostle, said of we sinners who reject God that the evil we do is not sufficient.

We "invent ways of doing evil," he writes.

And so we do and same-sex marriage and abortion are just two recent inventions.

Good for the pope for telling the truth.
