Yesterday I had breakfast with Newt Gingrich. The former House Speaker is an idea factory. He knows government is broken and bureaucracy can’t fix it. He has a list of ideas what will fix it – from education, to immigration, to just about anything. America is ready for change, he says. Real change, not the phony stuff that has been poll tested and put in the mouths of politicians.
People are sick of the bickering between parties and politicians which ends up costing more money with fewer results. The D.C. government, he says, doesn’t even know how many checks it writes and schools in big cities are cheating children out of a good education. Bridges collapse and we screen people at airports, but won’t control the border.
Gingrich has an organization called “American solutions for winning the future.” If you care about the country, more than winning the next election or smearing politicians, you will want to visit his web page. This is serious politics, serious ideas and serious solutions. We can’t continue as we have with huge spending producing less and less that promotes the general welfare.
