Know the Risk

August 2, 2006

Congress is off on a five-week break. When members return after labor day they’ll have a short time here before leaving to campaign for re-election.

The republican majority has much to answer for, including abandoning many of its principles. And while it may be tempting to stay home in November, or vote for the other side to help teach them a lesson, this may be a luxury we can ill afford.

Former Clinton aide Dick Morris wrote a column last week on how dangerous it would be for America and the world if the left recaptures a congressional majority. It has no plan for fighting terrorism other than retreat and surrender. Sound too harsh? Find a leftist democrat who has a serious plan, other than going to the toothless UN.

In fact, there are statements from many liberal democrats that make one wonder if they even know how to fight the enemy before us and the enemy within our borders, that includes sleeper cells.

So, while you’re making up your mind for whom to vote in the November election, remember that to punish republicans by electing democrats may not be worth the risk to our safety and security.
