Vice President Biden is scheduled to unveil today the administration's plans for restricting gun ownership and chipping away at the Second Amendment. He won't put it that way, but that will be the result.
In Maryland, Governor Martin O'Malley is trying to get to the left of New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo by proposing even stronger laws to curtail gun sales and fingerprint all gun owners.
Beware of politicians on a mission. None of this will help. Did you know that most murders in major cities are committed by gang members with criminal records? Last year 500 people were murdered in Chicago; 200 in Baltimore; 324 in Philadelphia; 400 in Detroit. Twelve cities account for nearly 3,200 dead and nearly a quarter of all murders in the U.S.
And by the way, all of those cities are run by Democrats.
Gang members who don't obey laws now on the books won't obey new laws. What are they doing on the streets in the first place? The problem isn't guns, per se. It's out-of-control politicians.
