Call the Boston Terror Attack What It Was

While President Obama did not call the murder and maiming of people at Monday's Boston Marathon a terrorist attack, it clearly was. And while he said at times like this there are no Republicans or Democrats, just Americans, certain liberals could not resist blaming their countrymen.

Nicholas Kristof, a columnist for the New York Times, blamed Senate Republicans for not confirming a new Director of the ATF. Chris Matthews on MSNBC said domestic terrorist incidents are usually the work of "right-wing extremists."

If it turns out the that 20-year-old Saudi national being questioned by authorities is responsible, along with possibly others, what will the Left say then? They will most likely spew the predictable line that not all Muslims are extremists and those who blame Islam are Islamophobes and bigots. We always hear this, but by now America should be aware of what those acting in the name of Islam and the Koran believe. It doesn't matter how many or how few fanatics there are if they are willing to kill and die themselves in pursuit of a caliphate on Earth.

I'm Cal Thomas.
