America Undivided

July 13, 2006

There was a 1960’s anti-war chant that went, “the people united will never be defeated.” That chant has applications for today.

Those who hate America think they have divided us. Democrats think their criticism of the president’s foreign policy will put them back in political power, but America’s enemies see this as division and cause for hope. Iran, North Korea, the insurgents in Iraq, the terrorists in India, in Gaza and Israel, the Mexican government, which encourages illegals to come here…all these and more think America is divided and weak and without resolve.

One might add to this list much of the mainstream – or drive-by media, as Rush Limbaugh accurately calls it. They never miss a chance at criticism, doubt, and dismay. The only soldiers they cover in Iraq are the very few who are alleged to have committed atrocities. The good ones and their brave works are ignored.

If you thought communism was a threat, it pales in the face of what we are facing now. Remember that slogan: the people, united, will never be defeated.
