This is not an April Fools' joke: The Center for Disease Control and Prevention reports there were nearly 20 million new venereal infections in the U.S. in 2008, bringing the total number of sexually transmitted infections at the time to more than 110 million. That's one-third of the country.
The study said half of the new infections in 2008 occurred among people aged 15 to 24. So much for "free" love.
These are the consequences to people who throw off all restraint. God has placed boundaries to protect us from physical disease and spiritual harm. We ignore those boundaries at our peril.
We are a nation drenched in sex, but parched in righteousness. Younger and younger girls are being sexualized in the media and in retail. Been to the stores lately and seen the clothes on the racks for teen and even preteen girls? It's shocking.
By the way, I can't let the atheist national holiday go by without comment. April Fools' Day is their day because "the fool has said in his heart, 'There is no God.'" I wonder if they'll get a postage stamp?
