British Prime Minister Tony Blair meets today at 10 Downing Street with members of his own and opposition parties as well as Muslim leaders.
The announced goal is to uproot the “evil ideology” and “twisted teaching” behind the London bombings.
Too many British and American people continue to believe that this violence is isolated among a tiny few.
What if it isn’t?
Suppose it is the mainstream – or soon will be – of Islam?
What’s the plan then?
If I were Blair, I’d tell the Muslim leaders that it is up to them to root out the heretics, if that’s what they are, among them.
If they don’t, or won’t, Blair should tell them his government will do the work for them.
That means shutting down and bulldozing the mosques and schools that teach sedition.
It also means closing the borders to all immigrants, including relatives of those already here, to anyone from countries that harbor terrorists and teach terrorism.
We’ve got to become more aggressive against the killers, relying less on the police to find the culprits after they’ve killed and get them before they kill.
