Two Liberty University student leaders are speaking out, saying that the school's Falkirk Center think tank has allowed politics to supersede the gospel message and that it negatively impacts the reputation of the university.
After Pastor John Piper encouraged Christians to consider a candidate's character and policy positions and asserted that he would not be voting for Donald Trump or Joe Biden, Liberty University removed Piper's convocation from their website.
Former Liberty University President Jerry Falwell Jr. has filed a lawsuit against the university. In the suit, Falwell claims that the university “injured and damaged his reputation” and forced him to resign.
According to a statement from Liberty University, President Jerry Falwell, Jr., who is currently on an indefinite leave of absence, agreed to resign from his post with the university but then rescinded his resignation.
