Messages of support have begun pouring in for Former President Jimmy Carter after it was announced that he entered hospice care over the weekend.
According to Fox California, in one message from the U.S. Secret Service, the agency responded to the news with a tweet, saying, "Rest easy, Mr. President. We will be forever by your side."
The Carter Center broke the news about the former president in a statement over the weekend.
"After a series of short hospital stays, former U.S. President Jimmy Carter today decided to spend his remaining time at home with his family and receive hospice care instead of additional medical intervention," according to the center's February 18 statement. "He has the full support of his family and his medical team. The Carter family asks for privacy during this time and is grateful for the concern shown by his many admirers."
President Joe Biden also tweeted his support of Carter.
"To our friends Jimmy and Rosalynn and to their family – Jill and I are with you in prayer and send you our love," he said.
"We admire you for the strength and humility you have shown in difficult times. May you continue your journey with grace and dignity, and God grant you peace."

Atlanta Habitat for Humanity President and CEO Alan Ferguson Sr. also released a statement about Carter, thanking him for his work helping families seeking affordable housing, Yahoo News reports.
"We are praying for President and Mrs. Carter as he receives hospice care at home. As we reflect on President Carter's legacy, we're reminded of the impact he made on our organization's efforts to ensure that families everywhere live in quality, affordable homes. He is a true servant leader whose tireless contributions to better the lives of people in our country and around the world will always be remembered with gratitude."
Sen. Jason Carter further tweeted that he saw his grandparents this week.
"They are at peace, and– as always– their home is full of love. Thank you all for your kind words," he said.
