ISIS terrorists are progressing toward the Christian town of Sadad, after capturing the nearby town of Maheen in Syria.
The Christian Post reports 15,000 Syriac Orthodox Christians reside in in Sadad. The town is also home to 14 churches and one monastery.
The terror group has been acquiring territory in northern and eastern Syria in recent months. Maheen feel after ISIS militants executed two suicide bombings in the town, forcing government forces out. At least 50 government soldiers were killed.
Previously, ISIS captured the town of Qaryatian, a Syrian territory with a substantial Christian population. The jihadists heavily persecuted the Christians and other religious minorities in the town, ordering them to follow 11 strict religious rules, or face death.
