Christian actor Kirk Cameron and his wife, Chelsea, are launching a new online course to help couples strengthen their marriages.
The Christian Post reports that the new course is called “The Heart of Family: Six Weeks to a Happier Home and a Healthier Family.” The Camerons say the purpose of the course is to provide couples with the foundation "necessary to build a strong, intentional marriage and family that can weather life's tough times."
"Chelsea and I have been married for 25 years, which in Hollywood years, is more like 250," Cameron told the The Christian Post. "Through this course, we're doing something we've never done before. We want to open our lives and open the door to our marriage, our family, our faith and our convictions. We want to share where we've struggled and what's helped us. We want to share the principles that strengthened us as a couple and as a family."
The course will also touch on parenting. Kirk and Chelsea have ample experience in parenting with six kids of their own.
The new course will begin on August 21. Each week in the course will feature a separate lesson and study guide, although the course can be completed at a couple’s own pace.
Cameron will also host a Q&A session with course participants in the last week.
"Our culture so badly needs strong marriages and families. It's the DNA of a healthy country and a healthy world," Cameron said. "Those are the lifelines to a healthy country and so we can't afford to have failing families and we can't afford to have faithless Americans."
