'The Bible Recap' Tops No. 1 Podcast in All Categories

Podcast host Tara-Leigh Cobble recently announced that her podcast, “The Bible Recap,” reached the No. 1 podcast in All Categories on Apple Podcasts.

“I never dreamed we’d be the #1 podcast in All Categories,” she wrote in an Instagram post on New Year’s Day.

According to Church Leaders, “The Bible Recap” is a brief, daily podcast that follows a 1-year chronological Bible reading plan.

“When I started this project in 2019, I prayed that it would reach 300 people. But God has grown it into something far greater than I could ever imagine!” Cobble said in a statement to ChurchLeaders. “I’m so encouraged and grateful because every single number represents a person who wants to know God better through reading His Word! And I believe The Bible Recap can help them do that!”

In each episode, Cobble summarizes key points from the Bible reading that users would follow each day.

“I recorded using a $99 microphone/headphones kit that I got from Amazon—and the Amazon box it was delivered in served as my ‘studio,’” Cobble explained on Instagram. “Our audio engineer, Allison, has been with me from the start, but since then, I’ve acquired an incredible team that helps serve you all each day.”

Cobble created the podcast to help people grow in their relationship with God and encourage listeners not to be intimidated by reading the Scriptures like she once did when she tried to read the entire Bible.

Since its launch, daily listeners of “The Bible Recap” have increased from 1,000 to 100,000, and over 1 million people have begun “The Bible Recap” YouVersion Bible reading plan, a spokesperson for TBR noted.

In 2020, Cobble published the book “The Bible Recap: A One-Year Guide to Reading and Understanding the Entire Bible,” which reached the No. 2 spot on the Amazon best-selling books list this year and sold out for several days.

Recently, TBR   launched a YouTube channel that has amassed over 16 million views so far, and the TBR team expects to reach 500 million lifetime streams of The Bible Recap by the end of 2024.
