The filmmakers who directed I Can Only Imagine and Woodlawn are set to make a new movie about a Navy Seal team member who was the subject of a New York Times bestselling book.

The Erwin Brothers' Kingdom Story Company has acquired the rights to the bestseller Fearless, which tells the story of Seal Team 6 commando Adam Brown, who overcame drug addiction to become a member of the famed Seal Team – Seal Team 6 – that killed terrorist leader Osama bin Laden in 2011. Brown was killed one year earlier in a heroic battle targeting a terrorist.

The Hollywood Reporter first reported about the new film. Andrew Erwin will direct it. Jason Hall will write the screenplay. He received an Oscar nomination for writing the screenplay for American Sniper.

"We are tremendously honored to bring this story to life, and I can't think of a better person to write this than Jason Hall. We are all honored by the trust the Brown family has placed in us to tell this story," Andrew Erwin said.

Erwin and his brother, Jon Erwin, co-directed American Underdog (2021), The Jesus Music (2021), I Still Believe (2020), I Can Only Imagine (2018), Woodlawn (2015), Moms' Night Out (2014) and October Baby (2011).

Kevin Downes, a co-founder of Kingdom Story Company along with the Erwins and Tony Young, will serve as a producer.

"This film is right in Andy's wheelhouse. Fearless will not only take you behind enemy lines with Seal Team 6 but into the heart and soul of one man and how he found the strength to step up," Downes said.

Kelley Brown, who was married to Adam Brown, said she is excited to see his story in theaters

"We are so blessed that such an amazing team will bring Adam's story – as told in Fearless – to the big screen. His legacy is in good hands," she said.
