The Unfolding Humanitarian Crisis in Gaza Worsens with Evacuation Order

The Israeli army has dropped leaflets in Gaza, warning people to leave Gaza City and the Northern Gaza Strip. Hamas, the terrorist ruling government in Gaza, called on the people to stay in their homes, claiming the evacuation orders were a hoax. 1,500 people in Gaza have been killed in the retaliatory siege, and 6,600 injured.

The Southern border to Egypt remains closed. “Time is running out to prevent a human catastrophe if fuel, water, food, and life-saving health and humanitarian supplies cannot be urgently delivered to the Gaza Strip,” a WHO spokesperson told Reuters.

Hospitals are stretched to capacity and face the impossible task of moving patients on life support. Doctors Without Borders reported a two-hour notice to evacuate al-Awda Hospital. “We unequivocally condemn this action, the continued indiscriminate bloodshed and attacks on health care in Gaza,” MSF International Posted on X.

The US is working to establish safe areas inside the Gaza Strip where civilians under siege by Israel’s military offensive can find protection, The Washington Post reported. “The United Nations considers it impossible for such a movement to take place without devastating humanitarian consequences,” Stephane Dujarric, United Nations, said, “The United Nations strongly appeals for any such order, if confirmed, to be rescinded avoiding what could transform what is already a tragedy into a calamitous situation.”

Hamas terrorists carried out what has been called one of the most unimaginable, inhuman, and brutal attacks in history on Israel. The attack killed 1,300 people and left 3,300 wounded. Many victims were innocent civilians; women, children, and even babies were hunted down in their homes, and many were taken hostage.

Countries worldwide, including the United States, have rallied to support Israel’s right to respond to the heinous and deplorable crimes committed against their people. Living under terrorist rule, the Palestinian people are suffering in the wake of that retaliation. “They could have risen up,” Israeli President Isaac Herzog spoke regarding the millions stranded, “many, many innocent” Palestinians do not approve of the attacks by Hamas.

The Israeli ambassador to the UN, Gilad Erdan, stated, “For many years, the UN has turned a blind eye to the arming of Hamas and the use of the civilian population and civilian infrastructure in the Gaza Strip as a hiding place for weapons and murder.”
