An evangelical church complex drawing over 70,000 weekly attendees has reported changed its domain name to .church.
Life Church, an Oklahoma-based megachurch with 24 campuses, lost a 185,000 dollar bid to adopt the name last year. But the church has now switched from .tv to .church, a change that its administration says is a step in the right direction.
Bobby Gruenewalk, Life Church’s innovation pastor said, “We believe the transition to Life.Church creates the opportunity to share and talk about the church in a natural way. Plus, it’s a more effective way for people to find and identify us as a church, too.”
Nearly 13,000 websites also use the .church domain, Christianity Today reports.
