The voter-approved gay marriage ban in Virginia may be overturned soon, according to CBN. Mark Herring, newly elected Attorney General, said of the matter, "I believe the freedom to marry is a fundamental right, and I intend to ensure that Virginia is on the right side of history and on the right side of the law." However, overturning the ban could leave Virginia voters incredibly disgruntled, reports the Washington Post. According to The Post, Republican lawmakers and conservative constituents accuse Herring of “abandoning his duty to defend state laws." Joshua Duggar of the Family Research Council Action Committee (and oldest child in the Duggar Family of TLC fame) lamented, "You look at the highest law enforcement officer in this state and what he has done and the way that he has...his dereliction of duty…and I think it's unacceptable." District Judge Arenda L. Wright Allen says she will issue a ruling very soon on the constitutionality of the ban.
