The creators of “God’s Not Dead” are now making a movie with a goal of giving “Fifty Shades of Grey” some wholesome competition. Rik Swartzwelder’s “Old Fashioned” will be released in theatres Valentine’s weekend 2015, the same time that the “Fifty Shades” will hit the big screen.

“Fifty Shades of Grey” is based off of E.L. James’ so-called “mommy porn” novel. Its trailer released last week has already become the most-viewed trailer of 2014, and Hollywood producers anticipate a huge opening weekend for the questionable film. But “Old Fashioned” will be offering a Christian alternative to romance.

“I wanted to tell a love story that takes the idea of Godly romance seriously. A story that, without apology, explores the possibility of a higher standard in relationships; yet, is also fully aware of just how fragile we all are and doesn’t seek to heap guilt upon those of us that have made mistakes,” said Swartzwelder.

"Old Fashioned" tells the story of a couple who try to engage an a Christian courtship in contemporary American society. Swartzwelder stars as the male lead Clay alongside Elizabeth Ann Roberts (Heroes, House, Black Knight) as the female lead Amber.
