Danny Gokey Explains Motivation Behind New EP, 'Brave'

Danny Gokey has a lot to say about his new EP, “Brave.”
“There are so many voices in our culture trying to tell us how to think about our country,” he told CBN News. “I want to write songs that celebrate us because there’s so many great things this country has done.”
Gokey’s goal in writing his newest music was to emphasize hope, bravery, and the goodness of the land in America, and he’s not afraid of sparking controversy.
“I felt the Lord call me to this project, and I said yes,” Gokey told CBN News, “Our great leader, Jesus, never avoided controversy. He never tried to get people to like him by winning people over.”
Gokey also talked about the importance of letting our values motivate our actions and reminds believers of the Biblical promise all nations will be blessed through us. (Genesis 22:18)
“We can all be a blessing to our country and choose to be a part of the solution, not the problem,” he said.
The Christian artist also encouraged Americans not to be ignorant of the enemy’s tactics and challenged Americans to understand the Constitution.
The former American Idol contestant continues to encourage listeners of his music and now hopes to inspire them to be confident and courageous citizens of this country, which provides so many freedoms.
