A group of psychologists asked 551 American Christians what they think God looks like. The test subjects were shown hundreds of randomly varying pairs of faces and asked which of the two looked more like “the face of God.”
Here we are twenty years later, and the tragedy of the Santa Fe, Texas shooting is one of the growing number of cases of school shootings. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims of this massacre.
I remember clearly a hymn the students chose for us to sing at that first Earth Day service. One of the most poignant lines goes like this: “O let me ne’er forget, that though the wrong seem oft so strong, God is the Ruler yet.”
Many Americans, declares an article in the New York Times (11/24/17), are “Leaning on the Stars to Make Sense of the World.” Personally I’d rather “lean” on the One Who made the stars to make sense of the world.
