God created us to love him and our neighbor (Matthew 22:37-39). However, love requires freedom to choose not to love. When we misuse our freedom to harm others and ourselves, God allows us the consequences of our decisions. One of the most important articles I have read in years demonstrates the relevance of this fact to our secularized culture today.
