Are you worried that we are moving closer to World War III? If you're not, should you be?
Are you worried that we are moving closer to World War III? If you're not, should you be?
I have no way to know if this deadly attack will lead to greater escalation in the region and even a world war involving the US and Iran. But I do know that nothing that happens next will surprise the omniscient Lord of the universe or deter his omnipotent power and sovereign purposes in our world.
This world can often feel like a dark place. Sometimes it’s hard to see light and hope in the midst of all the suffering and pain we see around us. Constant media headlines reveal the deep struggle, the pain, and brokenness so many have known.
God's promises are true and He is faithful to bring them all to pass. Every single one. Jesus gives us eternal hope, rooted in Him, the promise of heaven, and the reminder that He will come again.
Pastor and author Chuck Swindoll shares these known facts from the Bible:
· One out of every 30 verses in the Bible mentions the subject of Christ's return or the end of time.
· Of the 216 chapters in the New Testament, there are well over 300 references to the return of Christ.
· 23 of the 27 New Testament books mention Christ's return.
· In the Old Testament, such well-known and reliable men of God as Job, Moses, David, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Daniel, as well as most of the minor prophets mention Christ's return in their writings.
Instead of fearing the end times, or battling uncertainty over future events, simply knowing God’s word will give us power to live out our days with the understanding and wisdom that He is still at work, even when difficult things surround us.
He hasn’t lost control, not ever.

Here are 12 Scriptures That Remind Us, Jesus Is Coming Again:
Author and pastor Greg Laurie says events in the Middle East lead him to believe that biblical prophecy is being “fulfilled before our very eyes” and that Christians must not only support Israel but pray for peace in the region.
Only the Lord knows when your last day will be, so he is the only one capable of helping you live well every day until that time comes.
Reconciling biblical truth to the 'end of the world' reaction to war.
Author and pastor Greg Laurie says the war in Israel could be a major step toward events prophesied in the Bible and that supporters of peace should monitor closely the Russia-Iranian coalition, which he described as dangerous.
"Thou shalt arise and have mercy upon Zion, for the time to favor her, yea, the set time is come. For Thy servants take pleasure in her stones and favor the dust thereof. So the heathen shall fear the name of the Lord and all of the kings of the earth Thy glory. When the Lord shall build up Zion, He shall appear in His glory." Psalm 102:13-16
People sometimes ask me, “Pastor, why do you keep going back to the land of Israel?” Because I love the land and I love her people. They are God's chosen people, a people of destiny. I go to Israel for two reasons.
One, I love her past. I love to look back and see the land where my Savior lived and walked and talked. I love to study the Bible on location. It causes the Bible to burst aflame in your hands.
Two, I want help in understanding the present and the future, because there is Bible prophecy yet to be fulfilled. Keep your eyes on Zion, God's holy land. As the Jew goes, so goes the world. The Jews are God's yardstick, God's outline, God's blueprint, for what He’s up to in the rest of the world.
The land of Israel, I believe, is the most important spot on earth. The most important city is not Washington or Moscow, but Jerusalem. The most important land, believe it or not, is not America but tiny Israel, about the size of New Jersey.

A Christian author recently published a book highlighting the book of Revelation and events leading up to the return of Jesus Christ.
Kinley, who specializes in biblical prophecy, released his latest book, “God’s Grand Finale: Wrath, Grace, and Glory in Earth’s Last Days,” encouraging fellow Christians to observe God’s nature in Revelation and end times themes.
“It does tell us about the end of time, the whole Tribulation period, heaven … the Second Coming, the Antichrist, many different things,” he told CBN News in an interview. “But, interestingly enough, most Christians don’t realize that the book of Revelation actually reveals who God is to us.”
Pastor Greg Laurie said in his most recent sermon series that the Second Coming of Christ will be different from the Rapture.
Jesus’ Second Coming “is the answer to the prayer that the church has been praying for 2,000 years,” said Laurie, the senior pastor of Harvest Christian Fellowship in California, according to ChurchLeaders.com.
