An English school decided to rewrite the Christmas classic "Away in a Manger" on the account that the song was too specific to Christianity. The school, which is hosting a pageant where the kids sing the classic song, said the use of "Lord Jesus" in the song could make non-Christian feel excluded.
A tech company CEO took to LinkedIn to offer to fly five active duty military members home for the holidays. As scores of people wrote in requests, Ed Roshitsh -- who is a veteran himself -- was pleasantly surprised by the number of people willing to donate their own money to help bring even more military members home.
“I wish to encourage the beautiful family tradition of preparing the nativity scene in the days before Christmas, but also the custom of setting it up in the workplace, in schools, hospitals, prisons and town squares,” the pope wrote in Admirabile Signum. “It is my hope that this custom will never be lost and that, wherever it has fallen into disuse, it can be rediscovered and revived.”
"Christmas," Patricia Heaton urged, is "about family being together and celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ." The Middle actress told the Christian Post that this year she decided not to Christmas buy gifts so that she can focus on the real reason for the season.
