A year after his cancer diagnosis, Trebek released a video in which he said that giving up his battle with cancer “would certainly have been a betrayal of my faith in God and the millions of prayers that have been said on my behalf.” Unfortunately, the story doesn’t stop there. In his autobiography, Trebek writes: “Am I a believer? Well, I believe we are all part of the Great Soul—what some call God. We are God, and God is us. We are one with our maker. How do I know this? It’s not that I know it. It’s that I feel it.” He added, “But do I pray to a specific god? Do I anticipate a particular version of the afterlife? No, I do not.”

Alex Trebek took to Facebook this week to praise God for surviving one year with stage four pancreatic cancer.

Long-time “Jeopardy!” host Alex Trebek announced in March that he had been diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. Within days, he offered thanks to “the hundreds of thousands of people who have sent emails, texts, tweets, and cards wishing me well regarded my health.” Then last month, Trebek reported that his cancer was in “near remission,” saying that his doctors “hadn’t seen this kind of positive results in their memory.”

Chemotherapy is working for the 78-year old Jeopardy! host Alex Trebek, who was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer three months ago. In a cover story with People Magazine, he revealed he is now in near-remission.

The legendary Jeopardy! host told his fans, “I’m going to fight this, and I’m going to keep working.” He added courageously, “With the love and support of my family and friends and with the help of your prayers also, I plan to beat the low survival rate statistics for this disease.”
