On Wednesday afternoon, Vice President Mike Pence hosted the “Life Is Winning” event where he reflected on President Trump’s pro-life accomplishments during his first term.

Pence recounted how President Trump, prior to his inauguration in 2017, desired to make the sanctity of human life a priority in his administration.

“President Trump said early in our administration, and I quote, ‘Every person is worth protecting. Every human life, born and unborn, is made in the holy image of Almighty God,’” Pence said.

“In this administration, it’s always been about life,” he added.

Pence went on to say that Trump sought to protect the unborn by vetoing “any legislation that weakens current pro-life federal policies or encourages the destruction of innocent human life at any stage.”

“And President Donald Trump has kept his word every single day,” he added.

Early in his administration, Trump reinstated, and later expanded, the Mexico City Policy, which ends “government funding for promoting abortions around the world.”

Pence would also become the first Vice President to speak at the pro-life rally, March For Life during the first month of the Trump-Pence administration. In January of this year, Trump would become the first president in history to speak at the pro-life event.

Trump also signed a law allowing every state across America to defund Planned Parenthood, the nation’s largest abortion provider.

“In March of 2017, I had the honor of casting the tiebreaking vote in the United States Senate to allow every state in America to defund Planned Parenthood,” Pence recalled. “And President Trump signed it into law.

Members of over 20 pro-life organizations were at the “Life Is Winning” event including the Susan B. Anthony List, Students for Life, March for Life Action, Focus on the Family, Concerned Women for America and Family Research Council.

“Well, like all of you gathered here today, I’ve long believed that a society can be judged by how it deals with its most vulnerable: the aged and the infirm, the disabled and the unborn,” the Vice President contended.

Pence praised Trump’s appointment of over 200 pro-life, conservative judges, including three Supreme Court justices.

“Every one of these men and women are principled conservatives who will uphold all the God-given liberties enshrined in our founding documents and in our Bill of Rights,” he noted. “It’s truly a legacy that will reach generations, and it’s a testament to what each one of you have done.”

In closing, Pence thanked all who were in attendance at the event, asserting that protecting the unborn is part of God’s work on earth.

“I know what all of you know as well: that He who said, 'before I formed you in the womb, I knew you,' that's about life. And we do well in this movement to always remind ourselves that when we make the cause for life our cause, we make His work on this earth our very own," Pence concluded.
