John Hagee, the 80-year-old author and senior pastor of Cornerstone Church in San Antonio, Texas, was diagnosed with COVID-19 last Friday.
Hagee explained that the doctors identified the virus early and that his father is “feeling well enough to be frustrated with everybody in a white coat and a stethoscope.”
“He wanted me to tell you that he covets your prayers and that he asks you to pray for him daily, not only that he make a speedy recovery but that he looks forward to seeing you again at Cornerstone very soon,” Hagee added.
He proceeded to ask the congregation to pray for anyone else who had contracted the virus.
"As it is a reality in our lives, we also have a promise that we serve a God who is a Healer," Hagee asserted.
According to The Christian Post, John and Matt, alongside Cornerstone Christian Schools, successfully filed a lawsuitin July against the local government’s restriction on in-person classes, in which the Hagees wanted to resume in August.
“Plaintiffs hold a sincere religious belief and seek to educate, and have their children educated, through the in-person instruction of Plaintiffs’ religious, educational institution to further those sincere beliefs,” the lawsuit contended.
John Hagee has been an avid proponent of End Times theology, as seen in his book, Four Blood Moons: Something is about to Change. Earlier this year, the megachurch pastor put out a new message where he described the coronavirus pandemic as a “dress rehearsal for the new world order.”
According to the message’s description, John Hagee asked, “Who would think we would be banned from attending church, a freedom outlined by the first amendment, as our individual rights were systematically stripped away during an enforced quarantined?”
“Our economy sunk to the worst since the Great Depression, as we watched power-hungry dictators trample our freedoms in an extended crisis intended to crush the hope of the people. Make no mistake … the Great Tribulation is coming, and it will be worse,” he asserted.
