Disney is reportedly scheduled to air an ad from the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation featuring a mother of a transgender teen in light of its recent support for the LGBT community amid legislation that restricts transgender treatments for children and the teaching of gender ideology in schools.

The 60-second public service announcement, initially released by LGBT advocacy organization GLAAD, highlights the Briggle family. Amber Briggle, the family’s matriarch, is featured alongside her husband and their two children, one of which is a biological female who now identifies as a boy named Max.

In the ad, Briggle, a progressive activist running for City Council in Denton, Texas, highlighted Max’s interests – doing backflips and playing the ukulele – as she stressed that transgender children “are no different than yours.”

“There are some politicians who are trying to tear my family apart, simply because my son is transgender,” she contended. “Trans kids don’t have a political agenda. They are just kids. They just want to be left alone.”

As reported by The Christian Post, Briggle runs a blog titled “Love to the Max,” where she speaks on transgender-related topics and her experience as a mother to a trans-identified child.

She recently criticized the Lone Star State for enacting an order that called for investigations to be conducted into the use of transgender treatments on children. The order, however, has been halted by a Texas judge.

According to CNBC, the GLAAD PSA will air on channels owned by the Walt Disney Company, Comcast, Warner Media and Paramount.

As Christian Headlines previously reported, Disney recently came out as an outspoken opponent of the Parental Rights in Education Bill signed by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis in late March. The legislation, dubbed by critics as the “Don’t Say Gay Bill,” bars instruction on gender ideology and sexual orientation in K-3rd grade classrooms.

Further, in a recently leaked video of a meeting with Disney employees, filmmakers and an executive noted that they intend to add “queerness” to its children’s programming.

Disney’s pro-LGBT push has sparked pushback from parents and conservatives, including worship leader turned activist Sean Feucht. Last week, Feucht held a protest outside Disney’s headquarters in Burbank, California.

A recently released survey by the Trafalgar Group for Convention of States Action also found that 68 percent of American voters were likely to seek alternative outlets to Disney amid its decision to add more LGBT characters to its programming.
