A doctor recently confirmed that an attendee of the revival at Asbury University in Wilmore, Kentucky, has been diagnosed with the measles.

“There has been a confirmed case of measles of a person who was unvaccinated and who attended the revival on February 18,” Dr. Heather Felton said in a TikTok video.

According to Relevant Magazine, Dr. Felton cited a news clip reporting that students from over 200 campuses across the United States visited the Christian school during its weeks-long revival. The news report also highlighted a map one student designed that showed all the places attendees came from.

“Anybody who attended that revival [and] who is unvaccinated needs to be quarantined for 21 days and seek measles immunization,” Felton concluded.

According to Mayo Clinic, measles, or rubeola, is a childhood infection caused by a virus. Symptoms appear for about 10-14 days after exposure and can include high fever, cough, runny nose and watery eyes.

As Christian Headlines previously reported, Asbury students broke out in spontaneous worship and prayer following a chapel service on February 8. The news of the outpouring made national headlines days later as students from Asbury and other campuses continued to pray and sing inside the chapel.

Due to the influx of attendees, Asbury president Dr. Kevin Brown announced last week that the outpouring would conclude on February 23, National Collegiate Day of Prayer.

“Other colleges and churches are experiencing similar services,” he said at the time. “Rather, we are encouraging the continued movement of God through other people, places, and ministries.

“At Asbury University, we are excited to think carefully about how we process and steward this experience with our students. We want to capture their voices. We want to walk with them in continual discipleship. We want to commission them to be “salt and light” to serve the world and glorify God,” Brown concluded.

In recent weeks, spiritual outpourings have reached other Christian schools, including Lee University, Texas A&M, Indiana Wesleyan, and Louisiana State University.
