The faith-based streaming service Pure Flix will debut around 20 original titles in 2023, an increase from the roughly dozen that launched in 2022, the company's CEO says.

Pure Flix CEO Michael Scott told Christian Headlines that the company, launched in 2015, has seen an uptick in content since being acquired by Sony in 2020. That boost includes titles from Sony's library – Sony owns the faith-centric Affirm Films – but also from original movies and television series.

In 2022 alone, Pure Flix debuted such popular original titles as Strong Fathers, Strong Daughters, Saved by Grace, Legacy Peak and An Angelic Christmas.

"Every year, we're trying to increase [the Pure Flix library]," Scott told Christian Headlines. "We have over 20-some projects in the mix that are coming for next year – and when I say 20, those are originals."

Additionally, Scott said, Pure Flix has "thousands of titles that we're licensing exclusively from other great producers as well."

"And so there's something for everyone in here," Scott said. "If you want to watch a TV series, we've got great TV series. If you want to watch movies, we've got great movies."

Scott urged Christian families to ask about their media consumption: "Is it drawing us closer to God or further away?"

"Unfortunately, there's not a lot of services that do stuff like us. ... Pure Flix is that alternative in people's lives," Scott said. "... I always say our members are what allow us to do what we can do. So the more members we have, the more content we can bring them [and] the more people we can touch not only here in the U.S. and Canada but hopefully in the future around the world."

"If you've got kids [and] you want them to watch" a streaming service without worrying about mature content – such as what's on YouTube – then Pure Flix is worth considering, Scott said.

"[You can tell children,] watch whatever you want," Scott said. ".. And you know it's safe."
