Candace Cameron Bure Urges Fans to Read Bible Daily: It Is 'Living and Active'

Great American Channel actress and filmmaker Candace Cameron Bure is urging fans to read their Bible daily, calling it a “sign of obedience” that will fill them with mercy and love.

Bure recently posted comments on her Instagram page while promoting the One Step Closer Bible, a special edition study Bible she helped create. DaySpring publishes it.

An outspoken Christian, Bure is well-known for her roles in Hallmark movies and series, including Aurora Teagarden Mysteries. Earlier this year, she signed a major deal with Hallmark rival Great American Channel to develop, produce and star in movies and television shows on that network.

“We read the Word of God every day because it is a sign of obedience to Him, while it also fills us with His Spirit. His goodness, His mercy, His love, etc.,” Bure wrote while posting a verse: “Hebrews 4:12 – ‘For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.’”

The Instagram post included an on-screen graphic that read, “When people ask, ‘How often should you read your Bible?’” Bure answered the question by mouthing along to an audio clip, “Every day. Not all day, every day, but every day.”

Earlier this year, Bure signed a deal with Great American Media to develop and produce original content for Great American Channel through her venture, Candy Rock Entertainment, and to “create year-round seasonal celebration content” for the company.

“I’m very excited to develop heartwarming family and faith-filled programming and make the kind of stories my family and I love to watch,” Bure said. “I am constantly looking for ways that I can inspire people to live life with purpose. GAC fits my brand perfectly; we share a vision of creating compelling, wholesome content for an audience who wants to watch programming for and with the whole family. Great, quality entertainment with a positive message is what my partnership with GAC is all about!”

The network’s flagship channel recently changed its name from GAC Family to Great American Family.
