Lauren Daigle to Donate Proceeds from Latest Music Video to Various Charities

Lauren Daigle will donate proceeds from her music video "Hold On To Me," to several charities, Faithwire reports.

According to a tweet posted by the Christian music artist, each room in the music video is connected to a different charity.

She tweeted, "One of my favorite things about the ‘Hold On To Me’ Music video is that it doesn’t just stop at being a visually stunning piece. Each room is connected to different charities and causes that I’m raising funds for over the next several months." The tweet comes with a short video where Daigle further explains the types of charities represented in the music video.

Daigle also had an interview with People Magazine where she described the song, saying, "it's a song to remind people that hope is around."

Originally, the song was going to be released in 2020, however, with the intense uprooting of society and the fear that permeated almost all echelons of society, she said the lyrics "grew beyond" their original permeance and so the release date was moved forward to 2021.

Daigle told People, "After what everyone went through in 2020, the lyrics grew beyond when we had originally written it. So, we decided to release it in 2021. This song is about the person who feels lonely, the person who feels defeated ... It's a song to remind people that hope is around."

The song is also to meant to remind people of the importance of friendship, especially when all hope seems lost.

Daigle said in the interview with People, "Sometimes you feel like, 'What does too far gone look like?' And it's friends that hold you together, that wrap their arms around you and remind you that everything's going to be okay, and you're going to get through this."
