What is Wrong with the I.N.S.?

What is wrong with the Immigration and Naturalization Service? Everything!!

The I.N.S. last week mailed a routine notice telling a flight school that two of the hijackers aboard a plane that crashed into the World Trade Center had been approved for student visas. The notice arrived on the six-month anniversary of September 11.

President Bush expressed outrage and ordered that whatever is wrong with the I.N.S. be fixed. There is so much wrong that the I.N.S. should be closed and the duties and responsibilities of the agency handled by others within the government until it can be reconstituted with people who know what they are doing.

Our immigration laws need to be toughened and enforced. No more amnesties for those here illegally. No more people from parts of the world that wish us harm. And the immediate hunting down of all Illegals and their deportation. We must do whatever is necessary to protect ourselves from more terror. The I.N.S. can’t and it should be closed. I’m Cal Thomas in Washington.
