This Is Why I Love America

We're hearing a lot from people who hate America, and some are wondering why we are hated so much. I want to tell you just a little about why I love America.

I am an American by birth and by choice. There is no other place I would rather live. This land gives me freedom to be all that I can be and to worship my God the way I wish. This land gives me the freedom to speak my mind and to argue and debate others who believe differently. All of us can safely sleep in our own beds without fear of the police or religious authorities.

Press freedom allows me to express myself in newspapers and on TV and radio without fear that the government will deprive me of my voice or my life.

If America is so bad, why are so many breaking their necks (and too many of our laws) to get here? Why aren't people trying to get into Russia, or China, or Mexico or Afghanistan? We offer more of what other nations do not have.

We need to teach more of our own children why they should love America, too.
