School vouchers are the way to effect real change in the same, old, liberalism-as-usual routine of this country. If parents are allowed the choice of where to send their kids to school, the government schools will no longer be able to indoctrinate so many children with their secular and left-wing worldview.
The new Republican congress offers a unique opportunity to radically alter the education balance in this country in favor of choice and better performance.
The GOP’s advances in state legislatures in several major voucher battlegrounds promise to both spur on efforts to expand voucher programs and hamper efforts to curb them.
Texas is one example. In the 1990’s, vouchers went nowhere in Texas, despite the governorship of George W. Bush. That’s because the Democrat legislature blocked them. But in the November 5th election, republicans gained control of the state house for the first time since reconstruction. With a Republican governor, Texas should soon have a voucher program.
Let’s hope the idea sweeps the country, for the children’s sake.
