The State of a World That Has Forgotten God

The Netherlands, which a century ago had the committed Christian Abraham Kuyper as its prime minister, now allows homosexuals to "marry." The mayor of Amsterdam, where drugs and prostitution are legal, performed the ceremony just after the law took effect at midnight last Saturday for three female couples and one male couple. Oh, did I mention that the Netherlands also allows euthanasia? It may be the most decadent nation in Europe, which is saying something.

The gay and related agendas advance on many fronts. The gay lobby has won its battle against Dr. Laura Schlessinger's TV show, which was canceled last week. At Princeton "ethics" professor Peter Singer, who believes in eugenics, defends a new book on bestiality. Singer believes it is discriminatory to regard human beings as a higher form than animals.

And so it goes for a world that forgets God and ascribes to itself His powers and preferences. But not for the rest of us. We see the world headed in the exact direction that Scripture prophesies, and we care less about repairing the irreparable and more about building the kingdom that will never pass away.
