The Jobs Bill Debacle

President Obama says his so-called jobs bill is critical and must be passed immediately. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid chastized House Republicans for going on vacation while the Senate debated a continuing resolution and threatened to shut the government down.

All because Republicans wanted off-setting spending cuts to match new money for FEMA. But then FEMA said it had enough money and the Senate eventually passed the CR, as they call it.

But wait. The Senate is now going on vacation and telling the president his jobs bill can wait until they get back in a week. And then they'll take up a measure that would declare China a currency manipulator with certain penalties associated with that.

If the Senate doesn't think the president's jobs bill will work, why should anyone else?
