Terrorism Alive and Well

November 15, 2005

Did you watch the horrifying comments by the woman on Jordanian TV, calmly explaining that her explosive belt failed to detonate? Her husband’s did, killing scores of men, women and children at a wedding reception in Jordan.

Here’s another story. A court in Saudi Arabia – our supposed “ally” in the war on terrorism – has sentenced a teacher to 40 months in prison and 750 lashes for “mocking religion.” His crime? He discussed the bible and praised Jews, according to a Saudi newspaper report.

The newspaper says the teacher will be flogged in public and that his colleagues and students ratted on him.

He was charged with promoting a “dubious ideology, discussing the gospel and preventing students from leaving class to wash for prayer.”

These people are not going to be pacified or converted by traveling American diplomats. It doesn’t matter how many of them there are. It only matters there are enough of these crazed fanatics to kill sufficient numbers of us to get what they want. This is a war that will only end in victory or defeat. The question is: which side will be victorious and which side defeated?
