So Much Needs to Be Done to Secure Our Future

Did you see 60 Minutes Sunday night? It was frightening. Crop duster planes and the threat they could pose; interviews with Egyptians who hate us and defend the terror attacks in New York and Washington; and a story about how the Immigration and Naturalization Service never searched for people here on student visas. Either their visas had expired, or they violated them when they didn't show up at the schools, which had accepted them.

The former head of the INS was interviewed. She said finding people who abused their visas was not a high priority. It should have been. Why wasn't it?

There is so much that needs to be done, and I'm going to spend the rest of the week outlining some of the things I believe will improve our security and secure our future. I hope you'll be listening.
