Revolt Spreads to Syria

April 26, 2011

The upheaval in the Middle East has reached Syria, where President Assad ordered the murder of scores of demonstrators. President Obama condemned the action in the strongest possible terms. That will have as much effect as the president’s instructions to the Justice Department to investigate any possible fraud in rising gas prices.

Syria’s population is about 10 percent Christian and one of the oldest  Christian communities in the world, dating back to the time of Christ. Remember Paul’s conversion occurred on the road to Damascus.

Syria is linked to Iran and harbors the terrorist group Hezbollah. Israel shares a border with Syria and has mostly kept peace for the last 40 years. What would happen if the rebels won and depose Assad? Supposed he is replaced by an Iranian puppet who believes that stuff about the 12th imam and the sooner Armageddon arrives, the better for the coming of the Islamic messiah?

Oh, a messiah is coming, all right, but’s not an imam. He is the King of kings and Lord of lords. And he isn’t coming by our efforts, but on his own, accompanied by a very large army. Keep your eye upon the eastern sky.
