Pray for the Press

January 31, 2007

Tonight more than 125 journalists, filmmakers, writers and other artists people – many of them unbelievers – will gather for our annual media dinner in Washington. And tomorrow the National Prayer Breakfast with President Bush and more than 3,000 people from all over America and many parts of the world will gather to pray for our nation and each other.

At our dinner tonight, the speakers are Jon Meachem, editor of Newsweek magazine and the co-founder of the “On Faith” web page; White House press secretary Tony snow; and Joni Erickson Tada. We will also show a clip from the new film “Amazing Grace,” about William Wilberforce and the British abolitionist movement.

The purpose in all of this is to give the unbelievers permission to seek god by listening to strong testimonies about Jesus Christ by accomplished and talented people.

Please pray for this event tonight that the hearts of those who do not believe will be touched by the person and power of Jesus Christ.
