Peace Talk Reruns

September 2, 2010

Another round of so-called peace talks between Israel and Palestine begin today in Washington. This scenario is more familiar than a TV summer rerun.

You can't negotiate with someone who wants all of your land, believes their god demands your death and has commissioned you to do the job. You can't negotiate with people who constantly fill the minds of their children with the most virulent anti-Semitic propaganda that would have made Hitler proud.

Israel, as usual, will be pressured to make more concessions of land for a peace that will not be offered. There will be no two-state solution, because the Palestinians want only one state: theirs. They say this. Why should they not be believed?

After these talks go nowhere, or only partially somewhere, look for the Palestinians to stage more violence to get more concessions next time. As I say, a familiar rerun.
