Opening Doors to Illegals Threatens America's Heritage

Here's my problem with proposals by Mexican president Vicente Fox to give amnesty to the illegals currently in this country. It would encourage more to come, illegally, and it mocks American laws. What's the point of having laws if people know they can break them and get away with it?

Yes, we are a nation of immigrants - legal immigrants. Those who came before did so mostly legally. Many of those coming now do not obey our laws. My own view is that many on the left want to destroy what is left of America's heritage and claim for themselves a new political coalition designed to create a pluralistic faith and a meaningless history. You don't have to be a conspiracy theorist to understand that.

So, yes, send us your tired, poor, huddled masses, but legally and not all at once. Otherwise, the America they are seeking and the one most of us wish to maintain will cease to exist.
