President Obama delivers another speech today. That isn’t news. He’s always making speeches. Once again, he’s speaking to the Muslim world in the aftermath of the death of Osama bin Laden. He will appeal for democracy and moderation to a people who have demonstrated just the opposite. And by the way, there is no uniform Muslim world, anymore than there is a uniform Christian or Jewish world. There are many factions within Islam, especially those dividing Sunni and Shia.
Islam is a political religion. It is a religion of two worlds that its followers wish to impose by force on everyone else. If you disagree, show me a place in the Muslim world where any other faith can be freely practiced. Have you been paying attention to Muslim violence against Christians in Egypt, the home of the so-called Arab Sprin”? How about Pakistan where Muslims regularly riot and kill Christians?
This speech, like the one last year in Cairo, will fall on deaf ears.
