Newsweek Wants Story to be True

May 18, 2005

The flap continues over Newsweek magazine’s error in publishing an uncorroborated report that American interrogators at Guantanomo Bay, Cuba, flushed a Koran down the toilet.

Newsweek and their like-minded, liberal, hate-America, hate the military and hate President Bush media colleagues are circling the wagons

Some say the story could still be true, but they never say how since the single source used has not been identified.

The fact is Newsweek wants this story to be true.

They don’t want the Bush administration to succeed in Iraq, because that would mean other policies, including Supreme Court judges, might win approval.

These guys all think the same and believe the same.

They attend the same parties, they went to the same type of schools and they mostly vote democratic.

The public increasingly does not trust them and that is reflected in ratings and circulation declines.

But they don’t care because they think they are better than you.

Fortunately, you and I have other sources for our information and we are embracing them with increasing speed.

I’m Cal Thomas in Washington.
