On the National Cathedral Allowing Same-Sex Marriages

The Washington Cathedral, unofficial capital of the Episcopal Church in America, is going to start allowing same-sex weddings to be performed inside its magnificent structure, which increasingly resembles a white-washed tomb.

For years, mainstream Episcopalians have been conforming themselves to the world instead of being transformed by the renewing of their minds. Whatever the world wants to do, they are there to bless it.

They take verses about "love" out of context and apply it to things God calls an abomination, but then they wouldn't recognize the voice, much less the word, of God because they either stopped reading it or stopped believing it long ago.

Two questions: Since the Washington Cathedral will allow same-sex marriages, what would they prohibit and based on whose authority? Why not polygamy? Why not brother and sister, or adult-child? There are groups promoting all of these and more.

Second question: If the church wants to mirror the world, what's the point of having a church?

I'm Cal Thomas.
