'Muslims of America' -- Feb. 18, 2002

A few days ago I told you about a report in the Washington Times concerning a radical black Muslim sect based in a rural Virginia town. Now the same newspaper reports federal authorities have ratcheted-up their investigation into possible money-laundering, weapons violations and other possible violations of the law.

It's called Muslims of America and it is a tax-exempt group, though one wonders why.

In our attempts to be politically correct and not offend, we had better make sure this infiltration of our nation (and infiltration is what it is) does not present a clear and present danger to our way of life. Why are so many mosques going up in America when it is forbidden to build churches in any Islamic state? Here, we grant freedom. In Islamic states, there is oppression and discrimination against all other faiths.

I'll start feeling better when the radicals who mean us harm are hunted down and either put in jail or deported. Then I'll feel even safer when we properly guard our borders and keep out those who don't belong here. I'm Cal Thomas in Washington.
