The extremist rhetoric has begun anew.
From the New York Times editorial page – which sets the agenda for much of the political left – to many liberal interest groups, the election results of November 5th will mean 'back alley' abortions with rusty coat hangers, starving elderly people and the rich getting richer.
Like the child who cried wolf when there was no wolf, I wonder if people are finally starting to get this. The leftists said welfare recipients would starve and be homeless if welfare reform passed. It did and they didn’t --most got jobs, some for the first time in their lives.
The left believes all tax cuts are bad and hurt the economy. Instead, there is mounting evidence that tax cuts spur the economy.
On social issues, government can’t solve them, but it can help. The administration should back a truth-in-pregnancy law to give all pregnant women seeking an abortion a sonogram picture of their child, along with alternatives to the procedure. The women would still have choice, but it would be a fully-informed one.
Watch the extremists. They’re all on the left, not the right.
