Lavish Spending at Taxpayers' Expense

Nothing focuses on wasteful government spending and arrogance about spending other people's money more than this scandal. The chief of the General Services Administration and two of her top deputies have resigned after reports surfaced of lavish spending at a conference in Las Vegas which featured a clown, a mind reader and a reception that cost $32,208 of our money. Four GSA managers were placed on leave.

Remember President Obama last year tried to discourage people from going to Las Vegas? That was when he was denouncing corporate jet owners for not paying enough in taxes. Michelle Obama and daughters recently vacationed in Las Vegas shortly after the older daughter returned from Mexico where she was accompanied by 25 Secret Service agents. And we paid for both trips. What's the difference?

When it comes to waste, this is just the iceberg's tip. There is so much waste in government it's hard to count it all. Citizens Against Government Waste does a pretty good job. Visit their website and be outraged. And then promise yourself to vote smart in November.
